Why Fat, Not Carbs, Are Preferred Fuel for the Human Body
There’s a good reason so many people (mostly the sugar-burners, whose disparate group includes fruitarians, veg*ans, HEDers, body-builders, most MDs, the USDA and virtually every RD program in the country) can’t seem to grasp why a lower carb, Primal approach to eating is a better choice for health and fitness: their fundamental paradigm – the core theory that underpins everything else in that belief system – is flawed.click here to read more
James Durbin on Ellen Degeneres
Although this has nothing to do with Fitness, it is a Santa Cruz local who has worked hard to get where he is today and has never stopped believing in himself. This was taken from a book, Yoga Gems, that I read periodically in my Yoga classes. I love this one because it can be translated into so many other types of fitness activities and life in general. When you're training, competing, nervous, or stressed, focus on taking energy in with your breath and you'll be amazed at the benefits you'll receive. You'll be more clear, calm, focused, and your performance will increase.

Eating healthy can be part of an alternative treatment against illness. In addition, fruits and vegetables can even help beat back the effects of aging.... read more
